Reset Regeneration for Yanmar Tractors

Reset regeneration is a normal part of recurring maintenance and is critical to keeping your tractor in top shape. It should be performed after the first 50 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours after. It may also be performed if excess soot accumulates in the diesel particulate filter. Ready to get started? Here’s what you need to know about performing a reset regeneration on your Yanmar tractor.

How to Perform a Reset Regeneration

When the regeneration notification icon and the initiate regeneration button start to blink every two seconds, along with an audible beep, the tractor is requesting a reset regeneration. Reset is the first strategy of regeneration that requires you to perform actions. Fortunately, the actual process is quick and easy.

To begin, press and hold the regeneration button for approximately five seconds. Once regeneration starts, the regeneration notification icon and button will stop blinking and remain lit until complete.

Next, continue to operate the tractor as normal. After about 20 minutes, the lights will go off and the reset regeneration process will be complete.

It’s important to remember, with a reset regeneration there will be no diagnostic trouble codes, as well as no caution or warning lamp. Once you start the regeneration process, try to avoid interruption and allow the process to finish completely.

If you need more information, consult your operator’s manual or contact your local Yanmar dealer.
